BAYERN IN TALKS TO SIGN ZAKARIA

German champions Bayern Munich are reportedly in talks to sign highly rated Borussia Moenchengladbach midfielder Dennis Zakaria. The Swiss international is one of the most in-demand midfielders on the European football scene and he has six months left on his existing contract at Borussia Moenchengladbach.

The interest of Bayern Munich in Zakaria was revealed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who said that Bayern Munich officials have been in contact with his agents over a possible move to the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich officials plan a midfield overhaul at the club in the summer and it has already started with the imminent exit of MickaelCuisanceto the Italian Serie A. Cuisance is on the verge of sealing a move to Venezia in the Italian top flight.

Italian media personnel Romano also disclosed that Bayern Munich are not the only big European club who have initiated talks with the representatives of Borussia Moenchengladbach star Zakaria. Other big European teams such as Spanish La Liga side Barcelona, Italian Serie A giants Juventus and two English teams are said to have reached out to the camp of the Swiss international player in a bid to sign him for next season.

Zakaria, 25, is a versatile player who can feature effectively and efficiently in a number of positions on the pitch. He can play as a box-to-box midfielder and as a defensive midfielder. In addition to those two midfield positions, the Swiss national team player can also function as a central defender.

The only problem for Zakaria is discovering his best form again after he suffered a serious knee injury at the start of last year. The Swiss player spent around six months on the sidelines and he has struggled for consistency in the colours of Borussia Moenchengladbach since his return to full fitness.
