Thomas Muller speaks about the pressure on Bayern Munich for the title

Germany international Thomas Muller has indicated that Bayern Munich have always had the pressure to deliver the Bundesliga title. The Bavarian giants are currently leading the table with just five games to play but they don’t have the luxury of relaxing with Borussia Dortmund just one point behind them in the standings.

Speaking to reporters, Muller said that the club are used to the pressure of competing for the Bundesliga crown but they have facing the added competition with Dortmund refusing to drop out of the race. He added that his team are nonetheless in pole position and they are hoping to win the remaining games to seal a seventh successive league title.

He said: “We always have pressure and we have to deliver. It does not hurt us if we have a bit of pressure. This is how we have to go on. Dortmund are currently not brilliant, but they are delivering the results and that puts us under pressure. It’s in our own hands and that’s how we need to play each game at a time. We are aiming to win all our remaining games.”

“Bayern have not enjoyed the best of seasons in the Bundesliga and that has resulted from shocking results every now and then“. The regularity over the same has reduced during the backend of the campaign but they nonetheless have the pressure of meeting the expectations of “the fans by lifting“ the Bundesliga crown on a yearly basis.

At the moment, Bayern and Dortmund have five matches remaining for the campaign but the former seem to have the tougher run-in, considering they have games against Red Bull Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt to end the campaign. Both teams are currently occupying the Champions League places in third and fourth respectively and they could pose the main threat to Bayern’s extended league dominance.
