PREDICTED BAYERN TEAM TO FACE BERLIN

Bayern Munich turn their focus to league football when they return to the German Bundesliga in their next league clash which they will be playing against League rivals Union Berlin. The Bavarians have established a 7-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table but given the circumstances surrounding this fixture, that lead could be cut short after the match.

Bayern manager Hansi Flick will have as many as ten first-team stars absent for the game, with star striker Robert Lewandowski set to miss the game as he still nurses his knee injury. Corentin Tolisso is out with a thigh injury, Douglas Costa has a foot injury, while Lucas Hernandez is out with an abdominal injury.

The list continues, as Marc Roca is also ruled out of the tie with an unnamed injury. Leon Goretzka misses the match through a muscle injury, Niklas Sule, who played against Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week, will miss the match through a muscle problem as well. Serge Gnabry will not be in contention as well, while Leroy Sane, Benjamin Pavard, and Alphonso Davies are also ruled out.

It's a difficult position Bayern are in right now and they will have to pull off some remarkable performance if they want to see off Union Berlin in this tie. Also, they will want to banish the memory of the 3-2 defeat they suffered at the hands of French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg they played earlier this week as well.

Flick will be caught between trying to rest players ahead of the second leg against PSG next week and fielding his best players to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Predicted Bayern line-up: Manuel Neuer, Sarr, Boateng, Martinez, Alva, Kimmich, Tiago, Dantas, Coman, Müller, Musiala, Choupo-Moting.
