LAHM PRAISES DEFENCE

Bayern Munich captain Phillip Lahm has said that he is extremely happy at the way that Bayern Munich's defence is performing at the moment.

He has asked the coach Louis van Gaal to alter some tactics in order to make the team powerful in defence. The German voiced his concern as the Munich giants have been conceding a lot of goals recently and have had a poor 2010-11 season after winning the double in the previous campaign.

Lahm said the coach will have to rethink the team strategy and that they should stop dropping points in order to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. He added that his team had already made too many mistakes in the ongoing season and there is no room for more now.

“We have to reconsider the way we build up play. We have already spilled too many points and conceded too many goals because of mistakes we made building up play from the back,” the captain said in an interview.

The German international said that Bayern’s defence takes too many risks of going forward and that creates problems for them in the end.
