CAN BAYERN IMPROVE?

Looking back at last season, it almost looks as a Bayern Munich cannot improve on their season. However, midfielder Javi Martinez thinks that the arrival of Guardiola to the German club will make them even more stronger.

Guardiola will be the manager of the club for the next three years after signing a three-year deal. He will be taking over the club, which won the league title, Champions League, and the German cup title all in one season. In order to possibly overcome this achievement, Guardiola has to lead Bayern Munich to success in the FIFA Club World Cup along with these successes as well.

Many regard that it is almost unavoidable for Guardiola to avoid comparisons with his former manager. Martinez, who was a £ 35 million signing from Atletic Bilbao last season, has experienced a lot of success in his first season in Germany. He is no stranger to Guardiola after coming against the former Barcelona midfielder from numerous occasions when he was in Spain. The 24-year-old has said that he and his teammates will be working even harder than last season in order to repeat the success. The Champions League title lifted by Bayern Munich was their fifth in the history.

They will be hoping to make a good start to the league campaign.

"The season we have just had is almost unbeatable, but everything can improve. Pep will work very hard and will keep going for 24-hours a day to try to better last season, to make us play better. I really want to learn from him. My team-mates in the Spain squad have told me he is hard and will train a lot, but that we will learn and enjoy training. They have told me we will work with smiles on our faces," said Martinez.
