BAYERN EMERGE AS SHOCK POSSIBLE SUITORS FOR SHAQIRI

It looks like it will continue to be a summer of players returning to their former clubs as reports are currently claiming that German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have reportedly shown interest in taking back their former player Xherdan Shaqiri this summer. We have already witnessed the reunion of Ashley Young and Aston Villa, the return of Tom Heaton to Manchester United, and the pending return of Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge and it is currently looking like Shaqiri marking a return to the Allianz Arena could be the next on the list after the Switzerland international attacker revealed his desire to leave Anfield this summer due to a lack of playing time under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Shaqiri made his intention known a few days ago to the Liverpool board after rejecting the chance to sign a new contract extension at the club and he insists that the desire to get more playing time in his career is the key factor in him deciding that he wants to switch clubs this summer. It is still a rumor as it stands but the Shaqiri to Bayern links have gained some ground since first being mentioned last week.

Shaqiri was a Bayern Munich player some years ago but was pushed out of the club for the same reason he currently wants to leave Liverpool; a lack of playing time. It still comes as a surprise why he would want to return to Bayern, especially given the circumstances by which he had to leave in the first place but of course, it's football and anything can happen.

In other news, Bayern are also interested to activate the return of another former player Franck Ribery. The former France international winger played for Fiorentina last season but is now a free agent after leaving the Italian club this summer.
