HEYNCKES NOT WORRIED

Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has said that he is not worried about the rumours circulating about his future following a run of very poor results.

Bayern Munich were doing extremely well in the initial part of the campaign, but their form has nosedived both in the domestic and European fronts.

As a result, Bayern Munich are at the stage where they have conceded the possibility of winning the title. This comes as a major shock for many who have witnessed Bundesliga over the years. It has been more than 20 years since Bayern Munich were out of the title race by March.

Further, their chances of getting into the quarter-final stage of the Champions League also looks in tatters following the 1-0 defeat at the hands of FC Basel in the first leg of the last 16. As a result, there have been rumours that manager Jupp Heynckes could be sacked in the next few weeks, but the manager himself has said that he is not worried about his future. Even though the high officials at Bayern Munich have been quick to deny speculation that Jupp Heynckes would be sacked soon, there is almost a very strong denial that makes it look very false.

"I have an ongoing contract here, and I expect to fulfil this contract. What the outside world has to say on the matter is not my problem and does not affect me," Heynckes said in a press conference just ahead of a match for Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich will be facing Hoffenheim during this weekend, which comes as a major came for the German giants given that we are facing a tough task to reduce the gap between themselves and the leaders Borussia Dortmund. Bayern Munich trial Dortmund by five points in the table.
