Best Wingers ever to play Bayern Munich

With the news that Franck Ribery’s move away from the club was sealed, and with Robben announcing that Munich could be the last club he plays for, we’ve been inspired to look back over the years and assess 5 of the best wide men ever to play for famous Bavarians.

In no particular order:

Lewandowski looking forward to Leroy Sane joining Bayern Munich

Poland international Robert Lewandowski has publicly said that he is looking forward to Leroy Sane joining Bayern Munich from Manchester City this summer. The Germany international has won the Premier League title in back-to-back seasons with the Citizens but he has still been fancied to pursue a new challenge after finding himself regularly on the bench during the final stages of the previous campaign.

Speaking to Goal.com, Lewandowski said that the German players within the Bayern setup are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Sane, though no agreement has been struck by the respective sides, he told the outlet: “Bayern's German players are now very much looking forward to Sane's signing, but we have to wait and see what is going on.”

ROBBEN SIGNS CONTRACT

Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben has ended the speculation surrounding his future by signing a new contract extension with the German giants. Arjen Robben's future has been under constant radar in the last few months due to the fact that it had only one year left.

Robben in dive apology

Arjen Robben has issued an apology for a “stupid” dive which took place during Bayern Munich’s victory over Bochum on Tuesday night.

The Dutch midfielder was booked for the incident which took place in the 41st minute of the match when he seemed to skip away from a challenge before throwing himself to the floor in stages.

Robben has now admitted that the decision was not the wisest, calling it “stupid”, but did not seem entirely repentant about what he had done.

ROBBEN LOOKS FORWARD

Arjen Robben has said that his return from injury would not solve Bayern Munich's problems. The Dutch winger stresses that he's been sidelined for quite a while and that he needs time to find his best form.

"I know that people expect Bayern Munich to mount a serious title challenge again once I return and I do want to be playing an important role for the team as soon as possible," Robben told the club's official website.
