BAYERN STUMBLE TO VICTORY

Bayern Munich appointed former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola as the new manager at the helm. Guardiola admitted that he had a lot to live up to because the team had won the treble last season, whilst the online betting markets have made them favourites for any competitions they are eligible for.

They have started the season in impressive fashion by scoring a lot of goals, although they were defeated by arch rivals Borussia Dortmund in the opening cup match of the season. Bayern Munich recently stumbled to a 1-0 victory over Frankfurt in the league.

Even though this maintains the 100% start to the league campaign, many of the Bayern Munich players have admitted that they were not happy with the result.

Guardiola, though, has said that he had seen enough from his players to suggest that they will continue improving in the next few months. Striker Mario Mandzukic has been one of the impressive players for Bayern Munich in the last 12 months, and it was not surprising to see him score the only goal of the match against Frankfurt. Guardiola said that he was impressed with the performance of his players, who were coming after an international break. He has recalled that they made too many mistakes against Borussia Monchengladbach, but this was a much improved performance in this regard.

"Compared to last week, we are now controlling the game much better. Before, against Borussia Monchengladbach, we allowed too many mistakes, but today we were better in that aspect. It's never easy after international matches, we only had three days to prepare. Despite that were ready for the occasion. I am happy and 100 per cent content. We wanted to win today away from home and achieve picking up three points. We did not want to play attractively, but to achieve victory in the second game. And that we have," said the Bayern Munich manager.
